Joe Nemechek will share a ride in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season with his 16-year-old son, John Hunter.
The No. 8 truck owned by SWM-NEMCO Racing will run the entire championship schedule, with John Hunter Nemechek running only at the 10 tracks where drivers under the age of 18 are allowed to compete. Papa Joe will compete in the remaining 12 races at ovals larger than a mile, beginning with the season opener at Daytona International Speedway later this month.
NEMCO Motorsports was founded in 1990, fielding cars for Joe Nemechek's NASCAR Busch Series program. John Hunter joined the team last season and ran two races, with a best finish of 16th at Martinsville.
Joe Nemechek has more than 1,000 starts in NASCAR's three national series. He has made only seven career starts in the Truck Series, however, and has not raced a truck since 2006.
